What a beautiful home.
How much did all those bricks cost?
How many years have you lost?
It was part of your plan since birth, I know.
You needed a place for your children to grow.
So, you worked and worked and let it fly by,
ignoring the sounds of the little ones’ cries.
But the little ones are old, and you even more so.
What to do with no one and nowhere to go?
New décor? A fresh coat? That should feel nice.
Ignoring the fact that you cannot live twice.
The rooms are empty yet filled with shiny things.
A kingdom of none for the loneliest of kings.
